Why Won’t My DJI OM5 Connect to DJI Mimo?
The DJI OM 5 experience truly isn’t complete without taking advantage of the fantastic shooting features and settings provided by the DJI Mimo app. If you’ve had trouble running DJI Mimo on your smartphone or connecting Mimo to your OM5, we’re here to help with this handy guide.
What is DJI Mimo?
Developed by DJI to help you get the most out of your OSMO series product, DJI Mimo is an app that integrates with the DJI OM5, OM4 SE, Pocket 2 and more to maximise your OSMO experience. When being used with OM5, Mimo enables access to creative features including ShotGuides and Intelligent Shooting modes. Check out what you can achieve with DJI Mimo and ShotGuides in the video below.
Apple (iOS) Users
The DJI Mimo app can be downloaded for free for iPhone through the App Store. Currently, Mimo requires an iPhone running iOS 11.0 or later for compatibility. To take advantage of all features including stereo audio recording, it's best to ensure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS (iOS 14+).
Android Users
Unfortunately, the DJI Mimo app is no longer available for download through the Google Play Store. However, the app is available for easy download through the DJI website. DJI Mimo for android can be downloaded here. Downloading through the DJI ensures that you will always have the latest version of the app ready to go.
Connecting DJI OM5 to Mimo
Before connecting your OM5 to DJI Mimo, make sure your smartphone is securely attached to the OM5 and has Bluetooth enabled. Power on your OM5 and open the DJI Mimo app. A notification should automatically appear on your screen prompting you to connect to OM5. If this prompt does not appear, visit your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings. If this does not work, power-cycle the OM5 and try again.
