Want to pick up a DJI RC drone remote controller but don’t know whether your drone is compatible? We’re here to help! We’re going through the DJI drone line-up and breaking down which camera drones are compatible with the DJI RC. Check it out!
What is the DJI RC Motion 2?
The DJI RC Motion 2 is an upgraded version of the original DJI Motion Controller introduced in 2020. The controller features several improvements that were made based on pilot feedback but provides the same basic function of intuitive, motion-based flight control for DJI drones.
If you’re used to traditional drone controllers like the DJI RC-N1 or DJI RC, this controller might look a bit odd to you, but don’t fret, the DJI RC Motion 2 is in fact a fully functioning drone controller that allows you to control both drone and camera movements with just one hand.

What Drones are Compatible with the DJI RC Motion 2?
The DJI RC controller is compatible with a variety of camera drones across the current DJI lineup from the ultra-portable DJI Mini 3 all the way up to the flagship DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine that’s built for professionals.
DJI Avata
The DJI RC Motion 2 was first introduced alongside the DJI Avata FPV drone in early 2023, so it's only right that it's compatible with this drone. As the most flexible and highly-manoeuvrable drone in the current DJI drone line-up, the Avata pairs perfectly with the RC Motion 2, delivering an ultra-smooth flight experience where the Avata drone responds to your natural hand movements.
DJI Mini Series
DJI Mini 3 Pro
The only Mini series drone to support the RC Motion 2, the DJI Mini 3 Pro is arguably the most popular drone in the entire DJI line-up. Now this best-selling drone gets just that much better with updated support for the DJI RC Motion 2.
Please note that you’ll need to pair the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone with either the DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles Integra in order to pilot the Mini 3 Pro with the DJI RC Motion 2.

DJI Mavic 3 Series
DJI Mavic 3 | DJI Mavic 3 Cine | DJI Mavic 3 Classic | DJI Mavic 3 Pro | DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine
Great news! The entire DJI Mavic 3 series is supported by the DJI RC Motion 2 controller, allowing you to fly your flagship DJI drone in FPV whether its a standard, Classic or Pro model.
Just like the DJI Avata and DJI Mini 3 Pro, you’ll need to pair your drone and RC Motion 2 with a compatible DJI FPV headset in order to pilot with the RC Motion.
It’s important to note that while it's great fun to experience the Mavic 3 series in FPV with the help of the RC Motion 2, some of the Mavic 3 series’ flagship features are limited when flying in FPV.
Please note: DJI RC Motion 2 compatibility does not extend to DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise series drones.
Is DJI FPV compatible with the DJI RC Motion 2?
Unfortunately the DJI RC Motion 2 is not compatible with the DJI FPV drone. However, the first-generation DJI Motion Controller is fully compatible with the DJI FPV drone. You can check it out here.
