The primary difference between Power 500 and Power 1000 is power output and battery capacity. Power 500 has a formidable 512Wh capacity and a 1000W max power output, capable of powering most of your everyday household devices and appliances. DJI Power 1000 however dwarfs the operating power of the 500 with a colossal 1024Wh capacity and 2400W max power output.

Power 500 has 7 output ports. Two AC ports, four USB/USB-C ports and an SDC Lite port. Power 1000 matches this as well as adding an additional SDC port for an extra option for ultra fast charging.
Size & Footprint
The most obvious difference between Power 500 and 1000 is the size. Power 500 is 305mm (L) x 207mm (W) x 177mm (H), where the slightly larger Power 1000 sits at 448mm (L) x 225 (W) x 230mm (H). Both still very compact and portable units, this disparity is also represented in the weight. Power 500 comes in at a mere 7.5kg and Power 1000 at 13kg.

This really is reliant on where you are planning on taking the power station and the power needed to run whatever it is you may be using.
DJI Power 1000: High-Capacity Charging
Power 1000 on the other hand provides an added level of versatility with the extra SDC port. This combined with a higher capacity makes for a more powerful and all round better performing power station. This is where the user's specific application again will come into play. If the Power is going to be used for less power hungry devices ie it is being used to charge a phone or laptop, or power a lamp, this extra capacity may not be necessary. For enterprise and professional applications however such as emergency response or film production, a lot more power would be required so the fact the 1000 has a higher capacity and extra port would far outweigh the roughly 7 extra kilograms it weighs.
