DJI Mavic 3 vs DJI Mavic 3 Pro: What’s the Difference?
We’ve made it through the spec sheet. Now for the bit that matters; here are the key differences between the original DJI Mavic 3 and the new DJI Mavic 3 Pro.
A Third Camera
The highly-anticipated DJI Mavic 3 changed the game upon its release in 2021 with an innovative dual-camera design that meant pilots no longer had to choose between a Pro and Zoom camera like the previous generation Mavic 2. The new Mavic 3 Pro ups the ante with the addition of a THIRD camera - crazy right?!
This new Medium Tele camera slots perfectly between the Mavic 3’s existing wide and telephoto cameras, providing a convenient 70mm eq. lens ideal for framing from far away. This new camera sports a 1/1.3” sensor (the same size as DJI Mini 3 Pro), and delivers fantastic photos in 48 MP and fluid video in up to 4K/60fps.
Flight Time
One slight difference between the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Pro is flight time. The Mavic 3 Pro houses one more camera than the standard Mavic 3 which does add some weight. With a slightly heavier design, the Mavic 3 Pro is not as aerodynamic as the Mavic 3, resulting in a total max flight time of 43 minutes compared to the 46 minutes of Mavic 3.
New Accessories
A new gimbal head on the Mavic 3 Pro means a few new accessories catered specifically towards the new drone. These accessories are largely gimbal related due to the physical redesign of the gimbal head that accommodates the Mavic 3 Pro’s additional camera. These updated accessories include new filters and propeller guards designed to not infringe on the movement of the drone.
If you’re worried about your existing Mavic 3 series accessories going to waste however, don’t fret, all of the major accessories you may already own including Intelligent Flight Batteries and chargers all remain fully compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro!

DJI Mavic 3: The Go-To for Most Pilots
The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is a seriously powerful drone, but the truth is it can be considered overkill for some pilots, especially if you’re not flying professionally. That’s okay though, if you don't depend on your drone day to day, chances are you’re better off with the standard DJI Mavic 3 - the go-to drone for plenty of DJI pilots.
Mavic 3 provides phenomenal flight time, advanced safety, a plethora of creative features and more, making it an easy choice for DJI fans.
